Admissions Prerequisites and Requirements for the Flex Commercial Pilot Program

The Flex Commercial Pilot Program gives you the flexibility to train on your schedule and at your own pace. Start with zero time or with some experience, and earn your commercial pilot certificate on your timeline.

  • US Citizenship (or Permanent Resident)
  • 18 years of age or older
  • One of the following is preferred:
    • A High School GPA of 3.0 (High School Seniors and Recent Graduates Only), or
    • Two Years of College Experience, or
    • Two Years of Work Experience, or
    • Two Years of Military Service With an Honorable Discharge
  • Successfully complete an Admissions Flight at any ATP Training Center
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate with no limitations (except for corrective lenses)

Note: If any solo flight time at ATP is required, you must first fly at least 20 hours at ATP with an instructor. This is to ensure standardization to ATP procedures and enough experience with your ATP instructor for the solo endorsement.
