How to Get Your FAA First Class Medical Certificate?

Airline pilots are required to hold an FAA First Class Medical Certificate with no limitations (except for corrective lenses). Follow these steps to obtain your FAA medical certificate through an Aeromedical Examiner (AME):

  1. First, complete the initial portion of the application through FAA MedXpress. (Important: Use your full name on the application; matching your Passport and/or your Birth Certificate)
  2. Next, locate an AME near you. You will need to call the doctors office and schedule an appointment for a FAA First Class Medical.
